About

"I started Carbon basketball to help players I had coached under other programs. Helping players develop, learn and get experience is what I want to do and that is what this program is about. I want to win as much as anyone but I will always put the players first. Winning is worthless as a coach on this level if I'm not helping players get better. I want to make sure every player is confident, skilled and smart enough to make good decisions on the basketball court without being afraid of mistakes. If I can help players become that along with being a good teammate then I can live with the results that come from that.

The culture at Carbon is very intense and very demanding. We don't make excuses and we show up to compete no matter who we play against and no matter what the circumstance is. It takes some time for players to adjust if they are not used to the intensity I demand at training, practices and games but they always come out on the other side a lot tougher and a lot better as a player and person.

I want to make sure when they go play for other teams, they are prepared to play at a high level and they know what they are supposed to know so they have an advantage when joining new teams. Whether a kid wants to play high school varsity, college or pro, I make sure they are fully aware of what each level will demand from them and I prepare them the best I can to not only make it but perform well once they make it."

Experience

2008 - 2011

Lincoln North Star

I played basketball in Lincoln at North Star and played varsity my last 2 years there. My senior year I was on the first basketball team in school history to make the state tournament.

2011-2015

York College

Doane Univeristy

I walked on at these schools after high school. I had a nagging knee injury after getting surgery right before my freshman year along with some other issues so I didn't get to play a lot. During that time I started training some of my teammates and few of them were able to have solid professional careers.

2019 - 2022

Monarchs

Ubuntu

YMCA

Belmont Rec Center

F Street Community Center

For the Monarchs & Ubuntu basketball programs I was doing player development, assistant coaching and head coaching for boys and girls teams.

For the YMCA I was a camp instructor for every level from K-12 during the summer and winter for two years.

For Belmont I ran a basketball club at the rec for kids that stayed after school. I also helped with the first youth summer program for the F Street Community Center that allowed me to develop and run a daily basketball program for the kids everyday.

2022 - present

During this time I started doing more training for players and started Carbon Basketball in 2023. I also coached a girls team called Nebraska Phenom in 2024 but I am no longer a part of that program.
